天堂与地狱

许多基督徒相信：义人死后上天堂，恶人则在地狱里永远受苦。这本小册子用圣经浅白的教导检验这些观念。它指出，圣经从未提到"不死的灵魂"；人是有气息的活物，死后归于尘土。圣经所说的"地狱"是指坟墓，而不是永远受折磨的地方；天则是神的居所。神赐给人一个更美好的盼望：耶稣要回来，使忠心的死人复活，赐他们永生。那时，他们要与耶稣一同在地上的神国里作王。本书采用中英对照，中文经文引自和合本。

Many Christians believe the righteous go to heaven at death and the wicked suffer forever in hell. This booklet tests those ideas against the plain teaching of the Bible. It shows that Scripture never speaks of an immortal soul; man is a living, breathing creature who returns to dust at death. In the Bible, "hell" means the grave, not a place of endless torment, and heaven remains God's dwelling place. God offers a far better hope: Jesus will return to raise the faithful dead and give them eternal life. They will then reign with him in God's kingdom on the earth.
